I’ve had a great experience with Serena. She takes the time to really listen and understand what’s going on, and she explains everything clearly so I always feel informed and reassured. The treatment she suggested has been genuinely helpful, and after each session I’ve left feeling better and more optimistic about my back pain. I’m very grateful for her support and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and effective osteopath.

Vivian Patient

I cannot recommend Serena enough! I came in with neck pain that was making daily life tough, and she's been absolutely fantastic. She takes the time to actually listen and explained exactly what was going on with my neck. Her treatments are gentle but incredibly effective and I felt significant relief right after the first appointment. I have so much more mobility now and am pretty much pain-free. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

What does osteopathic treatment involve?

Osteopathy is a regulated, hands-on approach to healthcare. It considers how your body moves and functions as a whole, rather than treating one area in isolation.

In practice, Serena will start with a detailed case history at your first appointment. She will ask about your pain or problem, your health history, your lifestyle, and what you want to achieve. She will then carry out a physical assessment, observing how you move and using touch to identify areas of tension, restriction, or discomfort.

Treatment may involve a combination of:

  • Soft tissue massage and stretching
  • Joint mobilisation: gentle, rhythmic movement through a joint
  • Articulation: working through a joint’s range of movement

Many patients also benefit from guidance on exercise, posture, and self-management strategies. Serena will explain what she is doing and why, so you can make informed choices about your treatment.

The aim is not just to address the immediate problem, but to help you understand your body better and build strategies that support your wellbeing beyond the treatment room.

Who can osteopathy help?

Osteopathy can support a wide range of people, from those recovering from a recent injury to those managing longer-term or more complex conditions.

Patients commonly come to Serena with:

  • Lower back pain and sciatica
  • Neck pain, headaches, and jaw tension
  • Shoulder, hip, and knee problems
  • Sports injuries and recovery support
  • Chronic pain, including fibromyalgia and hypermobility
  • Musculoskeletal changes related to perimenopause and menopause

You do not need a GP referral to book. If you are unsure whether osteopathy is the right approach for your situation, feel free to get in touch. Serena is happy to answer questions before you commit to an appointment.

Osteopathy can help with a wide range of issues — from back and neck pain to joint stiffness, headaches, and more. If you’re unsure whether it’s suitable for your specific concern, feel free to get in touch. We’re happy to talk it through.

Yes — osteopaths in the UK are fully regulated healthcare professionals, trained to work safely with people of all ages, including those with chronic health conditions, during pregnancy, or in older age.

Your first visit includes a detailed case history, physical assessment, and treatment (if appropriate). You’ll also receive advice to support your recovery at home. Follow-up appointments focus on progressing your care and helping you meet your goals.

Osteopathic treatment is usually gentle and should never be painful — but it’s normal to feel a little sore, achy, or tired afterwards, especially if it’s your first session. This is similar to how you might feel after exercise or a massage, and it usually settles within 24–48 hours.

If a particular technique feels uncomfortable during treatment, your osteopath will adapt or stop right away. You’re always in control and encouraged to speak up at any time.

If any post-treatment discomfort lasts more than a few days or feels unusual, just get in touch — we’re here to help and make sure everything feels right for your body.

A new patient appointment is £65 and lasts up to 60 minutes. This includes a full case history, physical assessment, and initial treatment where appropriate.

Follow-up appointments are £55 and last up to 45 minutes, focusing on your progress and ongoing care.

There’s no obligation to book more than one session — we’ll always discuss what feels right for you.
